Psilocybe Cubensis Mexican Strain
The Psilocybe cubensis mexican strain was originally found in southern Mexico in the region of Oaxaca, just outside of a small village. The mushroom was growing in the dung of cattle. The strain was noted to be a good producer, growing in dense clusters, with very few aborts. It flushes abundantly, with thick clusters, and dense meaty mushrooms. The caps are also a deep chesnut to orange color, and smooth, often being bell shaped. This is a very beautiful mushroom, and has been used by ancient civilizations since before history for spiritual purposes. It has been rumored that this strain was used to contact the gods of the local people, for spiritual awakenings, and for relaxed, colorful visions. If you are looking for a mellow strain, mexican is for you.
This very popular strain also has some interesting physical appearances that are different on different substrates. It’s kind of a chameleon of a mushroom. To see all its different forms you have to hunt for it in different places in it’s region. Although there are many pictures on the internet that document this for you already by people who cultivate the mushroom legally.
The mushrooms are typically not giant like those of alacabenzi, or amazonian. These mushrooms are small – medium sized with a bell shaped cap that is golden – orange. Don’t think that because they lack the size of others, that they are no good. This is a fantastic strain! The stems typically get about 7″ long and cap is between 2-5″ wide. Spore print size is also large, and very dark. All around this strain is a medium sized cubensis strain.
Many documented accounts by people from mexico who have used this strain claim that it is very spiritual in nature, although mellow.
